Specialized Neonatal MRI For Safer NICU Imaging

NEONA MRI is a purpose-built solution for neonatal imaging inside NICUs. Its compact footprint minimizes patient transfer risks, while its MR-compatible incubator ensures stability and safety for even the most fragile patients.

The NEONA MRI is designed specifically to address the very special needs of the Neonates in the neonatal intensive-care unit (NICU) of large Medical Facilities. The design of NEONA MRI addresses two unique issues that are important for critically ill infants.

First, the need for a compact MRI system design suitable to be placed within or very near the NICU area. This co-location concept for patients and equipment minimizes patient transport issues and affords lower-risk access to the MR technology.

The second key consideration is the use of an MR-compatible Neonatal Incubator during an MRI exam. The MR-compatible incubator monitors and stabilizes the patient’s physiological and environmental needs as well as the MR Coil components. The incubator design requirements – both structural and functional are specific – are incorporated as an integrated sub-system of the MRI system itself.

Collectively, the unique features of the NEONA MRI differentiate it significantly from other traditional general-purpose MRI systems. Our additional investment of design effort addresses more Neonate categories and will better serve as the development platform for further advances in the near and long-term empowering us to advance and improve MRI utility with this unique patient population.
